    First Impressions are Lasting Impressions

Hi, I’m Michael Luckman, CEO of Achievex Corporation a licensee of the Sandler Sales Institute. When first meeting, all prospects immediately start to form an opinion of you. It’s based on how you are dressed, your speech, your tone of voice, your body language, and many other factors besides what you actually say.

In fact, the actual words you speak have the least impact on the opinion the prospect forms of you. Remember the old saying, “It’s not what you say but how you say it.” Most of you probably don’t remember the 1960 televised debate between John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon. Those who saw it on television felt that Kennedy won. Those who heard it on the radio felt Nixon won. Why do you think that was? Pundits say it was because Nixon had a 5 o’clock shadow and was sweating from his upper lip. Kennedy looked cool and confident. Impressions matter.

The fact is that 93% of people’s opinions are formed by the physiology and tonality of the other person, and only 7% is based on the actual words spoken. To be successful in selling you need a slight edge, and that edge is making First Impressions Lasting Impressions.
