uncertain economy.
In it he describes
the Sandler Selling System that
makes every sales call predictable, and enables those
who follow the system the ability to close more
business, close it more quickly and close it more

| The
Greatest Salesman in the World, by Og
Mandino
If you haven't read
any of Og Mandino's books this is the place to start.
Read by millions this is one of the most inspirational
books you'll ever read. A bit of what you can expect:
I will persist until
I succeed.
I was not delivered
into this world into defeat, nor does failure course
through my veins. I am not a sheep waiting to be
prodded by my shepherd. I am a lion and I refuse to
talk, to walk, to sleep with the sheep.
The slaughterhouse of
failure is not my destiny.
I will persist until
I succeed.

| The
Greatest Miracle in the World, by Og Mandino
What would you think
is the greatest miracle in the world? In this joyous
book of hope and promise you'll find out.
Here is a simple but
powerful story that will affect your thoughts and
actions long after the final sentence has touched your
heart. |
|
|
| The
God Memorandum, by Og Mandino
The God Memorandum
first appears in The Greatest Miracle in the World
and in this little book stands alone.
What it is is a memo
from God to you, letting you know that you are
the greatest miracle in the world. What Mr. Mandino
recommends is that for 100 nights before you go to
sleep you read this memorandum. And one other thing
you might want to do, something I did for myself, is
to tape record yourself reading this memorandum. What
I did, is as I read the memorandum, I put little red
dots where I wanted to insert my name, so as I
recorded myself I would use my name 2-3 times per
page. I then listened to it every morning as I got
ready for my day. It was like God speaking to me,
using my voice. |

| Think
and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill
Think and Grow
Rich, first published in 1937, could be considered
the granddaddy of success books.
This book contains
money making secrets that can change your life. Andrew
Carnegie's magic formula for success was the direct
inspiration for this book. Carnegie demonstrated it's
soundness when his coaching brought fortunes to those
young men he disclosed his secret.
This book will teach
you that secret - and the secrets of other great men
like Carnegie. It will show you not only what to do,
but how to do it. If you learn and apply the simple
basic techniques revealed here, you will have mastered
the secret of true and lasting success. And you may
have whatever you want in life. |

| How
to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale
Carnegie
Dale Carnegie passed
away many years ago but his teachings are as relevant
today as they were when he first developed them.
In 1974 the company I
headed won an award for Best Toy Store Design given by
a major trade publication. I was in New York to accept
it and had to make a short speech. I swear I was so
nervous I could feel my heartbeat in my fingertips.
When I returned home I knew that I had to find a way
to overcome my fear of public speaking. I found the
Dale Carnegie course.
In those days the
basic course consisted of 8 weeks of training in three
separate areas; Effective Public Speaking, How to Win
Friends and Influence People, and How to Stop Worrying
and Start Living. I did learn to overcome my fear of
speaking in front of groups, but it was the other two
areas that had a dramatic impact on my life.
How to Win Friends
and Influence People will provide you with the
tools to start up and carry on a conversation with
just about anybody. If your business requires you to
get out and network and you're deathly afraid of
walking up to stranger and initiating a conversation
then this books needs to be on your nightstand. |

| How
to Stop Worrying and Start Living, by Dale
Carnegie
They say that 95% of
what we worry about never happens. Then why to do we
spend so much time making ourselves miserable?
In this book, using
practical tools, Dale Carnegie shows how to stop
worrying and start living. |

| Three
Magic Words, by U.S. Andersen
Here is a book I read
over and over again years ago while going through a
very difficult time in my life. It was packed away in
1996 when I moved back to San Jose from San Ramon.
Recently I was looking for something in the garage and
opened a box I thought would contain what I was
looking for, instead, sitting right on top, was this
wonderful book. I knew I had to read it again.
U.S. Anderson,
Stanford University football player, WW II naval
officer, wrote this book in 1954 and like Napoleon
Hill was way ahead of his time. I won't tell you what
the three magic words are, you'll have to read the
book for that. But I will tell you this book can and
will change your life.
I will share this
much with you, all things that manifest themselves
into our lives, both good and bad begin with thought.
Do you remember the last time you felt unhappy,
afraid, uncertain? What were you thinking at the time?
I'd bet it was some sort of negative thought. Maybe
worrying about some report you had to do. Maybe it was
a conversation with your boss that didn't go well.
Whatever it was it was the thought in your mind that
created the emotion you felt. Learn to control your
thoughts and you control your destiny. |

| Selling
to Vito, by Anthony Parinello
The perfect companion to the Sandler Selling
System. Selling to Vito - Very Important Top
Officer, contains all the tactics you need to get
appointments with impossible-to-reach top decision
makers. These are the people who can say YES to your
products and services.
What I've noticed, since the year 2000, buying
decisions that are made within organizations, are made
at a higher level. If you're not calling at this level
you're on the losing end of too many opportunities.
One of the things I teach my clients is that you need
to start at the top. And starting at the top is not
easy.
What Tony Parinello provides in this excellent
sales book, is a how to guide to reaching the top
people you need to be in front of. |

| Feel
the Fear and do it Anyway, by Susan Jeffers,
Ph.D.
Let's face it, selling can be frightening. Calling
and carrying on a conversation with a total stranger
used to take all the courage I could muster. My mind
would race, what if I screw up? What if I say the
wrong thing? What if they get mad a me? What if they
hang up on me?
Like most salespeople, I was more comfortable when
I was in front of a prospect, but even then there were
buyers who intimidated me, and that was frightening.
I'm going to share something with you that when I
first heard it, had a profound effect on me.
Everything that you have ever wanted in your life, is
always on the other side of fear. And that fear, when
we succumb to it, prevents us from really having
everything that we want and deserve.
So how to overcome that crippling fear? Well I'd
start with this wonderful book. Susan Jeffers talks
about what we are afraid of and why. And then gives us
some dynamic techniques and concepts that will help
you grab a hold of your fears and move forward towards
the life filled with success you truly deserve. |
